  • The C-17 can reverse up a 2.5 degree incline at the max weight of 585000 pounds.

  • Ok I want to know how did it take off so early. And I watched that too I was maybe a football field away from you moving the Civil Air Patrol planes to the taxiway.

  • hmm, interesting stuff

  • Technically speaking, any plane canr everser itself. However, most planes with underwing engines refrain from doing so as it sucks dirt and debris up at low speeds (okay at high speeds, above 70kts). MD-80's, DC-9's, and planes like C-17's with high wings can do so without FOD damage.

  • It has even shorter landing rolls!!

  • love the Globemaster, great takeoff footage, thanks

  • I'd like to say most aircraft can get about 80-85% power with reverse thrust, so technically if it was light weight enough they could reverse. When the C-17 does a demo it is (i would guess) as light as it can possibly be.

  • Now this is a monster plane, great vid.

  • Jesus that was a short take-off.

  • can most planes reverse thrust and the plane itself reverses or is just this that has that special ability?
