Protesters greet UN nuclear inspectors in Iran

http://www.euronews.net/ UN nuclear inspectors have been kept away from a student protest as they landed in Tehran hoping to shed light on Iran's nuclear programme.
Demonstrators carryied pictures of murdered nuclear scientist Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, who was killed by a car bomb earlier this month.
The head of the inspection team says he wants to resolve all outstanding issues on Iran's nuclear programme, which the agency has said includes weapons-related research.

If Iran's nuclear developments are for peace as the claim then more power to them, but when you deny the UN a full inspection of all nuclear facilities to make sure that you're abiding by a treaty that you signed against nuclear proliferation it gives a lot of suspicion. What Iran needs to realize is that they are members of the UN and fall under the west's protection, if Israel attacks without provocation then the west is obligated to help Iran.

Why does Iran, having plenty of crude oil to meet all their energy demands 10 times over, need nuclear energy. Despite this, they continue their nuclear program and have inured a variety of sanctions.
A rational human wouldn't see an advantage in having a peaceful nuclear program, when it's costing their economy so much strain from sanctions. If you add the potential power of having a nuclear weapon, then a rational person would press onto developing nuclear technology.
