3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment; On Patrol in Iraq

Soldiers from 3rd ("Thunder") Squadron , of the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment. On patrol and taking fire in Mosul Iraq. I was in 4th ("Longknife") Squadron for a few months before leaving the army.
Mosul is in far northern Iraq, in a primarily Kurdish area. Both the Iraqis and Kurds there were Sunni muslims, and the Iraqi Sunnis were sympathetic to Saddam Hussein. So of course they always had a *huge* problem with the American invasion and toppling of Saddam.
