A funny video about having my trip thru Texas temporarily derailed in San Antonio, part of a nonfiction video series about the strange and twisted path an Amtrak railroad trip took from Marshall, Texas to Hollywood, California.

  • did you visit the Alamo while you where stuck in my fair city? LOL

  • @danielday36

Not this time. I've lived in San Antonio before: 13 years.

  • The simple truth is that you can not spell stupid without the letter U and P. Union Pacific could care less about passengers, their dispatchers are paid to move the freight.

These two cars of the Eagle are supposed to join the Sunset Limited when it arrives. Unfortunately, UP owns that track as well as the Eagle tracks. If things ran on time, you would go to sleep on the Eagle and wake up on the Sunset Limited in the same car. Blame UP for not keeping the trains on time, not Amtrak.

  • Yeah, I figured that out by the time I got to my destination.

  • the way things are supposed to work are if you are booked on train 421 going to anyplace past SAS you can stay in your car during the lay over. 2 cars are taken from the eagle 1 coach and 1 sleeper and attached to the back of the sunset limited which continues onto LAUS. the remaining eagle overnights and departs as train 22 back to chicago. I took this train all the way to LAX from chicago 4 nights on the train back in 2008. did you call amtrak to get a refund or voucher

  • lol how pathetic!!! No engine!!!

  • ive lived in texas for 2 years. i havent ridden a train but if i did, i wouldnt want that to happen.

  • Oh, okay. Still, I hated the layover. Very uncomfortable.

  • That is a separate Amtrak shipping company - not at all connected.

  • Yes
