  • you completely ignore the fact that she told "JESUS" to "suck it". i'm a fervant free speech supporter but when a media outlet broadcasts on an entertainment show with an individual telling all its viewers that their personal deity should "suck it" they may want to give pause. i think it should be recognize that the comment was at the least "vulgar" and "hateful" in nature to everyone over the age of 60 as well as and most particularly christians. w/out "suck it jesus" it'd be fine.

  • I still don't see it has "hate speech." I would agree that it could be construed as "hateful," but that does not make it "hate speech." What if she had said, "Suck it Vishnu!" or "Suck it Zeus!" Suck it isn't the problem... it's that she added Jesus to it, that is what is offending people. If Jesus were real I think he could stand up for himself when insulted.

  • I agree with you, Blair. American tabloids print complete lies about people every day and nothing is said or done about it. Up here, in Canada, we show The Osbournes as is. No bleeping and nothing cut. Just a simple disclaimer at the beginning of the show to warn people so they can decide for themselves if they choose to watch or not. I don't understand why in The U.S. it's such a big deal. She's a comedian. She explained herself on Larry King quite well.

  • Funny how the "freest country" in the world seems to also have the tightest ass cheeks on the planet as well. ;-)

  • ha your totally biased bro.what may not offend you may offend many others.personally my faith isnt set in stone, but i know many people who are more devout than me would be offended."Suck" isnt the offensive phrase, it is "suck it jesus".thats directed at a religious icon. "suck it mohommed" would be just as offensive but to a different group of people.

  • Many of the same people screaming for Griffin to be censored are the same ones that were befuddled as to why the Muslims wanted a cartoon of Mohammad censored. If you laughed at the Muslims during that nonsense, then it is hypocritical to expect censorship in this case because it is poking fun of YOUR religion.

  • I always loved red haired women, now i love one more,

  • Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! Damn right it was in your face, it was intended as such. Bleep the word "shit" and play the rest...I think it's funny and refreshing. Those that are offended were SUPPOSED to be offended...maybe then they'll do something about these idiots thanking "god" for making their hit song "Slapping my bitchy ass hoes" a success. My personal favorite pet peeve on this subject are fighters that thank God for giving them the strength to beat another man unconscious!

  • real people do use the word suck.

and it was ''in your face-go kathy!''

  • You can say what you want and ask rediculous questions like that afterward. It doesn't change the fact that when someone is bold enough to thank God when they know people like you will hassle them for it, they're thanking God for the ability that was God given that enabled them to do what they do. If you think otherwise, you're quite naive. I played football on one of the highest levels there is. I know the men that would thank God. I know what kind of people they are. I speak from experience.

  • don't be that naive, of course you and everyone else knows exactly what that means. I think it's safe to say she wasn't referring to a lollipop. Contrary to your opinion, christianity doesn't equal stupidity.

  • The bones were found. Inside the armor, in perfect military formation. The simple fact is that you have to have more faith to believe that the human race, the animal population, the earth itself in all of its' perfection happened through mere accident. Do you have any idea the mathematical probability? Darwin himself didn't even believe his own theory. The missing link had nothing to do with a link between man and monkey. It's the missing link between every species ever to walk the planet.

  • i want to add to this statement. that making blasphemous comments is of no consequence, but when i was in 3rd grade and someone told me to "suck it" i found the comment hurtful and yes "hateful". in fact i think the thing that made her comment funny in the first place is that it was hateful towards a holy/fictional person. so while it is fained hate speech. it is still tongue and cheek usage of hate speech. any way, i agree that it shouldn't have been censored but its not a ridiculous reaction.

  • its stupid people are making a big deal about it....she was only making fun of people who sit there and thank jesus for winning there awards, like kathy said, like jesus doesnt have better things to do then making sure someone wins there award or get a shot from the 3 point line

  • I just drank a coca-cola. jesus did not have anything to do with me getting the drink. I bought the coca-cola with my own money. SUCK IT JESUS!!
