Isn't that always the way though? Usually keeping the secret is far worse than fessing up. Though this is a pretty big secret. I love the angst. :)

And Drew... "It runs in the family"?! I don't think so, dear. If you had half the brain Shane does, you wouldn't be trusting Stefano. Mind you, Shane's not doing so well in the brain department himself right now...
PS: If the one flashy light is Benjamin Bear, what were the two flashy lights for John and Diana?

I don't know about not trusting Stefano, really. It seems like John and Stefano were best friends till John actually betrayed him first, right?

If "falling in love" can be considered a betrayal, yes. And if "being best friends" means having to do what your best friend tells you, at all times, and having a microchip put in your head to ensure it, then yes.
I love Stefano and John's relationship. It's endlessly fascinating. But were they proper friends? No. How many of your best friends do you call "sir"?! ;)
Stefano is always in control, and anybody with him is entirely at his mercy. It's not a situation to put yourself into willingly.
