On Sunday, August 24th, Jon Fishman of Phish sat in with the band Straight Up Reggae at the Sea Dog Brewing Company and Restaurant in Bangor during the American Folk Festival. After the band finished their set, Fish chatted for a while, signed autographs and had his picture taken with a few fans. Even though he was trying his best to be incognito, there was no mistaking Fish! So, what about the future of Phish? (It's a secret!)

  • Yea hes the man. So much finesse. I just left a band in Colorado called "Euforquestra". I played guitar for them, and page mcconnell sat in on a few sets on a mini tour once. He was pretty cool. Also, I notice your name has NRBQ in it. I live in Nashville, I hang with big al andersen and co write a lot:) great guy

  • Wow. You've written with Big Al? What is that like? I've always loved his songwriting, his amazing guitar work and that soulful voice. He's one amazing dude. I saw him with the briefly reunited Q in April 07 in Northampton. He sounded as good as ever.

It's also very cool that you've played with Page. You have kind of a musical Forest Gump thing going on! :>)

  • I've always loved the way Fish plays a Soca. He's such a spunky little fucker

  • Yeah, he is one of the best drummers of all time, in my opinion. I heard a drum pattern that sounded like "Limb By Limb" and when I walked over to investigate, I saw him laying back, sounding great and playing incognitio. Fish is the coolest and he just loves to play!

  • Fuck they sound great with Fish. Bet they wish he'd "sit in" a little more often hahaha. 2:45 = Ya Mar sound

  • If you like reggae, reggaeton, or dancehall music, "reggaelinx website"is an awesome site for you.

  • Hey I didn't know anyone video taped this! I'm the guitarist on the right. I'd like to get a copy of this! Did you record anymore of this?

  • i was also going to say this sounds like ya mar

  • at one point it sounds like ya mar

  • @starkmachete I think Phish plays Soca as well or even better than any Soca band. haha then just when you think your face is melting, he brings back that good ole' split open & melt funk.

  • Playing with the most insane band for 3 decades that intends to play grooves and jams hard, wrong, and strong makes playing with these guys a cinch.

  • his head looks like its in that dogs hat represent maine

  • Limb by limb has one of the coolest drum beats I've ever heard.

  • Little Jonny Fishman is a beast
