@18richardson not really; in the folk tradition, especially Irish, it's very common for men to sing songs written from the woman's point of view... and vise-versa.

The Sweeney's Anthology cost me three times what a new CD costs,but would be cheap at twice the price.
It is an outstanding document of a wonderful band.
