I'm not just telling this ya know.. I made a research on it.
I know Yu-Gi-Oh! has a big popularily but It can't be compared to Magic. Even Warcraft has higher popularity that yugioh.

Goes like this: Magic > Yu-Gi-Oh! > Warcraft TCG > Duel Masters > Maple Story...

Yu-Gi-Oh!: ATK/DEF
Magic: Power/Toughness

But I prefer calling them ATK/DEF cause I got used to it since I was playing yugi two years before I started Magic. (I'm a trator!)

i wasn't exactly blowin' smoke either. the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG was named the top selling trading card game in the world by Guinness World Record on July 7, 2009. The trading card game contiunes to gain popularity as it is played around the world.
