A somewhat mystic angle of the found object.

  • The question of mimetics is still up for debate; and once the walls of the museum disintegrate there will be a new political system to distinguish art from real life.

  • I am just reactivating the work. The Duchamp Shovel has come full circle back to being an everyday object; in fact more so because the work is not even an original. So the work is only a symbol or reference inside the museum; but the real material object is used as a tool in which duchamp's ideas are projected. This is what I am interested in; the life and/or experience from the perspective of the real shovel.

  • Just seeing that is interesting on just how a normal object put in the context of art can capture our imaginations just as much as a painting hanging in the next room does; in many cases more than the painting hanging in the next room! Wow.
