Should I install the game on the Local Disk C, because the patch doesn't recognise the game ?

Guys I figured out how to add new songs and still save your progress!
First you should go to your save file
( located in your documents, aspyr, guitar hero III, save, progress}{progress )
Then you copy this file ( s000.d ) to your desktop. This is now the file which contains all your scores and data! So now you can use songlist editor to add a new song to make a new s000.d file.
Now click Update Savegame
First select s000.d on the desktop, then s00.d in your documents.
Now run GH3! :D
tried on guitar hero 3
doesn't work at all
it doesn't import the song inte the list and I can't use the patch cause it says that I need to install the game first. which I already have don a long time ago

You probably have used a no-dvd patched .exe. All you have to do is re-install it, don't worry about your save for now, then apply the patch, then copy your no-dvd .exe into the directory.

thanks! but in the videos you don't really explain how to get a midi file. I guess the midi file is the notes but you get a .chart when you save on songlist editor. Is there something you do in songlist editor or what. this could be useful to know as I want to make GH songs of songs that aren't avalible to download

If you go to my other tutorials, the one about Feedback, it'll tell you how to get .midi files.
