hard to believe this was only just a year ago!

yeah mostly cos they didn't realize the extent of the deterioration underneath. i guess they were pretty much preventing anything worse from happening by extending the excavation up to Queens Ave. it was still a nightmare to get around and really messed up the buses and traffic for quite a while.
