Actually, no. With practice, this style takes only about 1/2 hour, working alone. It is possible that Faustina had more than one ornatrix working on her hair at the same time, so it may have taken even less time!

Addendum to last: These styles could have been worn every day, but they may not have been redressed every day---they are very sturdy and some may have been slept in. Also remember that hair dressing was part of a woman's "cultus" and the virtue of beauty, therefore "convenience" wasn't necessarily at issue.
