Peugeot 908 HDi FAP test @ Monza 29/10/2010

Yesterday I went to Monza to see a very private test of the Peugeot LMP1 team.
The car in the video isn't the new Peugeot 90x but during the day I saw 2 times the new 90x (unfortunatly I couldn't make a video). In the video you can see a 908 Hdi Fap make 2 fast fly bys with wet track ( that was the only place I could take the videos).

The last 2 videos and the photos are about an old test of the Peugeot 908 in April ( I've put them because the video was too short).

Just know that they were using a revised version of the 908 HDI FAP on the Monza track to test out its band new aerodynamics and maybe the brand new engine too?

@gtone339 I don't know if they were using the new engine on the 90x that unfortunatly I didn't see and hear. During the tests they used the 908 for some comparaison of performance with the 90x so it's probabily they tested also a new engine.

@caro75nt grazie!! No purtroppo anche la prima è la 908 hdi di quest'anno. I primi due video ( quelli col bagnato) sono dei test della Peugeot più recenti, dove c'era anche la 90x ma che non sono riuscito a filmare.

@19Bozzy92 Ok, thanks. Officially they have not confirmed it (instead they said they are still looking "several" options, which could be just a smokescreen) and I think I would bet on diesel, but I still hope it's a petrol...

@deggis4 During the day, before the 908 hdi fly bys, that I've recorded, I saw ( not well because I was walking a bit far from the track) a first fly by of a 908 that it seemed to me the 90x. But the engine sounded like the v12. Probabily with the water effects of the wet track I thought that the Peugeot had the fin on the engine cowling.

One of my youtube friends said me that the 90x engine during the Monza test may have been a v8 or v6 diesel engine. So the one I heard was the 908.

@19Bozzy92 Did you hear it properly (when it was actuallly going around the track)? There has been some speculation that they might opt for a petrol-(hybrid) after all, especially since the first photos came up and officially they have not confirmed engine choice. But if the sound was "similar" to 908 then the engine in this "test mule" must have been a diesel because at least I don't think it's possible to mix petrol (even turbo) sound to a diesel sound. So what do you think?

@deggis4 Well I don't know if they were using the new hibrid-engine. The sound was similar to the sound of the 908
