Groovemonzter has done it again! I left work thinking about the global financial meltdown. Good enough, I forgot the present and remembered the good old days on turning to Groovemonzter's videos.
Salutions, groovemonzter, for reaching this deep into juju music. Wow, this one is 37 years old! Your interest in music must be more extensive than many realised. This was the first "Ogun" album by Sunny Ade, 1972. It was so well received at the time there were requests for a reprise. That came I think later the same year, and featured a long Ijala chant -- poetry by hunters, for whom Ogun is patron -- delivered by the late Diran Ajijedidun. Now you wouldn't want your fans to miss that!

Greetings Outreachat, as always your comments are insightful and thought provoking. My interest in Nigerian music is certainly growing. For this song I was aided by the wonderful reissue CD pictured in the video. It has several gems and is well worth investigating. I didn't realize this song went clear back to 1972, I was still a college youth then. So long ago. Was that this same life?
