@Zaesar7 Slow: you said it! If you got slow hardware Win7 would be slow. With same hw Linux would be perfect.
Inspiration from OSX: first of all OSX is UNIX based (than again windows sucks) and second of all there's a concept of sharing between all UNX developers which doesn't mean "copying", plus I cannot find ONE thing invented by Microsoft developers and on the other hand there's planny of things createted by... others.
@FedoraFTW I'm sorry: as you still talking about "no game and video editing" I understand you won't do much with a computer... so... yes, I might say Windows suites you perfectly.
Drivers: Microsoft won't put in its kernels drivers for HW older then 2 years... I installed 3 distributions of linux on a Packard Bell and than I tried with a Windows 7 and (shall I tell you the difference, you won't understand)
@Zaesar7 hard to find drivers? if your retarded, slow? if you have slow hardware, every company copies. you don't think KDE got some inspiration from OSX?
EI does suck, i use chrome
enjoy your shitty Xorg, no games , no good video editing software
@FedoraFTW U must be outta your mind... i tried 'Loose'dows for a week... 4 windows to configurate the network... hard to find drivers... slow... widgets copied around the world... graphics copied BADLY around the world... the browser sucks and its full of backdoors... no command line... BLAH...
@Tylerdurdin1 OH and Sabayon is stable but I have found that it is as slow as XP now for some reason. Time to go back to the really awesome basics like the Sabayon 4.0 rc1.
Cost more, no free anything, if you do purchase something for windows and dont like it, good luck trying to get your money back, more viruses, more spyware, more system crashes. Got 3 machines all dual boot, windows offers nothing, you can keep trying to justify the money you spent, but dont do it at the expense of linux.
@lazomba i have never had my software crash with windows 7, windows is windows thing is silly. i ahve used linux for many years and tried many differnt distros. nothing compares to the apps and stability of windows 7.
@FedoraFTW yeah but you have to worry more about your computer crashing then your software with windows. Don't get me wrong I think Windows 7 is great but it's still windows. Windows is still very unstable and buggy. Linux I have found to be much more stable. Yes almost all software comes out for windows but that shouldn't judge the functionality of the actual OS.
@Zaesar7 I use chrome too...
GAMES: try using OpenGL and enjoy PES2010, World of Warcraft, car simulators, etc....
