As yesterday's clips probably clued everyone in on, it's time to highlight a top competitor who has just come into his own over the last year or so. Eddie Edwards has risen from an occasional face in the ROH roster to one of the top wrestlers in both singles and tag team ranks. Training under the legendary Killer Kowalski, Edwards his start in the Northeast Indy scene, Eddie found himself working for quite a few feds, honing his craft while at the same time facing some of wrestling's elite, such as AJ Styles and Samoa Joe. In 2003, he defeated Jerelle Clark for the MWF Television Title, becoming the inaugurial champion. In 2006, Edwards made his first appearance for Ring of Honor, in a losing effort to former World Champion Austin Aries. A month later, he would return in another losing effort to Jack Evans. However, things would soon change, when he was recruited by Larry Sweeney for Sweet & Sour Inc. There, Edwards would find some success. A setback came about when Edwards would lost a singles bout to Kevin Steen on an early episode of ROH on HDNet. However, soon afterward, his tag team with Davey Richards, collectively known as the American Wolves, would find themselves defeating the likes of Cheech & Cloudy, among others, earning themselves a shot at the ROH World Tag Team Champions, Kevin Steen & El Generico. In a spectacular Tables Match, the Wolves dethroned the longtime champions, and stood atop the mountain. There, they would defeat some tough competition, such as the Young Bucks, Bryan Danielson & Tyler Black, and many others. Ladder War II saw Edwards wrestle with a broken elbow, but that didn't stop him, as the Wolves retained, and would remain champions up until Final Battle 2009, where they were dethroned by the Briscoes. They would also lose to the Young Bucks in the Bucks' final ROH bout before heading off to TNA. Since then, Edwards has mainly found himself in singles competition, and even found himself in the ROH World TV Title Tournament, in which he defeated Colt Cabana, Kevin Steen, and partner Davey Richards to become the inaugurial champion, and it may be quite some time before anyone knocks him off that throne. Edwards's style has changed quite a bit over the years. His old finisher, the Belly to Back Facebuster, is now a high end signature move, and is accompanied by the ever so fearsome Chin Checker. The Die Hard can take its toll on any man Eddie faces, and when that's not enough, he'll make them scream for mercy with a nice Half Crab Hold.

  • I'd like to see more of Edwards. I know that he's the current ROH World Champ and that he competed in this years DDT4 (?) but besides that, I've only ever seen 2 matches and a music video. He seems like a mix between Chris Hero, Prince Devitt, Colt Cabana and Davey Richards in my opinion and for some reason, a 1% shade of Diehard Dustin Lee. Any matches you suggest?

  • His match with KENTA is NOAH was real good.

  • could you do a top 10 of Jon Moxley?

  • I have zero footage of Moxley.

  • die hardoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • @TheSuicidalDragon i belive in u :)

  • First entering ROH in 2006 in a loss to Austin Aries, Edwards broke out of his shell in 2010, winning a Ladder War match and Survival of the Fittest, both with a SEVERE SHOULDER INJURY.

The storyline with Davey Richards which culminated at Best In The World reminded me of the rivalry between Mitsuharu Misawa and Toshiaki Kawada.

Only in Ring Of Honor would you be able to see such emotion in a storyline, not the one-dimensional crap in WWE. The last time WWE had that was WrestleMania 20.

  • I like Eddie I think people don't really look at him bc of Davy but I think Eddie is very underrated I love the die hard

  • @MrScr3wy the way i look at it is i overpaid for this show, so goddammit im gonna have some fun too

  • @liveandletrock864 Because they respect art. Americans as a culture aren't taught that. We're taught to be pushy, in your face and domineering. Like everybody owes us something.

  • i find the japanese crowds to be realy awkward. i dont get how they can go to a show and be silent

  • i hate his pin, look like he is f***ing this guy

  • @chainsawproof99 His GHC Jr. Title match with Kotaro Suzuki is one of the best matches this year and arguably the best GHC Jr. Title match ever.

  • haha Genghis Khan 1:58
