Thank you so much! My friend and I had no idea what was in the pot we were given for Christmas but it got planted anyway.

You're right; amaryllis are easy to grow (much harder to spell). My sister gave me one for Christmas in college -- long before I did any gardening -- and it grew. Beautiful!
