i made a mini but it is not as good as your , how did you render it , using mental ray i had trouble using mental ray because my computer kept crashing and had to resort to ray tracing , so could you say how you did the rendering process , cheers

Hi Thanks for sharing. your rendering rocks. I have also completed a 'beetle', in NURBS. ill send you the JPEG if you want. Its not as good as yours but its my first car design in Maya SO I ma not too hard on myself.

this is beauty bro I am drooling I ma also trying my hands on Beetle using nurbs. Just wondering if there is any pirtular reason why you converted into ploys?If you could give a tip on depth of field whould be really nice..I use Maya..

I started with nurbs, but I converted into polys because it's what I really know how to model with. I also wanted to try Modo and it doesn't support nurbs.
All the DoF effects were done in After Effects, using the frischluft plugin. It's much better than the standard After Effects blur effects and you get a nice bokeh.

One of the nicest renderings I've seen. I read on your site you are using modo 401. Is that the native renderer? what are your settings? It looks amazing!

Hi Mendez,
Yes, it's Modo's native render engine. It's basically lit using an HDRI image, a couple of reflectors and some color correction and depth of field.
