Dr. Stephen Hicks, Professor of Philosophy at Rockford College and CEE's Executive Director, presents a series of lectures on the philosophy of education. In Part 11, Dr. Hicks covers the fifth of the seven "isms" — Existentialism. In this section, he lays out the philosophy of Existentialism.
@razmatazz8 I believe this is to summarize the so-called 'existentialist' philosophy and influence thereof.

You demonstrate no passion about a subject of extreme importance. You have your act together however, you have little grasp of the subject.
My conclusion is that you have only the slightest clue of these matters. Your Phd gave you lots of confidence bu,t not much more.

@razmatazz8 The "first rate" comment is just. For a good period of time up to the point where Nietszche is writing we have mostly Deists, all sorts of atheists, and the famous Christians he mentioned (Kant, who is very widely read, and Kierkegaard, who is widely read and vital to existentialism) who reject the idea of proving the existence of a god. In other words most of the philosophers, first rate or not, that we still read from these periods seem to be moving from God, for better or worse

Majority of 'first rate' intellectuals find arguments for God's existence don't work. What standard determines 'first rate' intellectualism, those who believe God is dead? Tired, worn-out argument here: we (humanists, materialists) design the only arena for argument (the material realm) we accept as legitimate. Anyone who argues outside this realm is delusional.
Real intellectual.
