This is my boyfriend's John Deere M that he is restoring. He's been having problems with it over heating so he made a chrome stack to put on it and so far it's working great! It also made it MUCH louder.

  • What temp are you runnin 210 is normal

  • Damn! That stack sounds badass!!!!!! Ordering one for my freshly restored M right now. Nice jod, BTW.

  • Couple of things to consider. 1. the chrome stack may not furnish enough back pressure to assure correct exhaust valve closure. Just guessing. 2. The M is missing the heat shield that attaches to the back of the engine area and deflects hot air away from the gas tank. Ask me how I know this. My gasoline was actually boiling in the tank one day. Luckily I figured out the heat shield thing before an explosion occurred. 3. the timing could be off enough to affect engine heat.
