@SSuperCuriouss I second you ! Amen

@theyanna Thanks for asking. So sweet and thoughtful of you indeed :) I have made my requests known with thanks to Lord Jesus. If he would take it away, but not my will and that his be done in my life. I have learned that his grace alone is sufficient for us and he is with us believers to the end of the world. So I have nailed that worry and anxiety on that cross and have never looked back since...If this is part of the cross that I am to carry so I will thankfully..Praise God Amen :)

@AJBluesman How are you doing on it? It seems to get worse the older I get =( I refuse to take the meds because of the side effects.
-
@jderhak I dont take adhd meds. Never liked them. But if you paid me to pay attention, even if it was something exciting like an action-packed movie or live show, I will 95% of the time not end up getting paid because I cannot for the life of me control my bouncing ping pong ball-like, hyper, distracted mind.
adhd is real. the drug companies just decided to bank on it :-)
doesn't take away the fact that the disorder is there.

@buenbum55 Ya, that was my point. When I posted this, there were comments referring to it as a mental illness.

@kiggity9 cause it is not one.

@MrMitchellLagle man I can,t even count how many do that.i think if you find one who has it that one be really helpfull.

I take my notebook to meetings (write down tasks) because i will never remember it when i walk out.
yes, im a compulsive procrastinator - so I overload and overwork. when i use alcohol to make people more interesting at parties, i become hyperactive. i can hyperfocus if the work is interesting and challenging. I dont think of it as a disorder, my brain is just wired differently and im trying to make the best of it.
I have never taken drugs.
Im an engineer with ADD, & my solutions are amazing :)

It's a problem, yo.
It would be great if society weren't rigid on defining "disorders", "drugs" and "doctors", so one wouldn't have to grovel before some no-brainer lady "admitting" to "an illness" to get some useful "drugs".
It's hard ENOUGH for us to get around to getting help without the additional obstacle course.
hehe, sometimes i wish i could give my brain to someone who doesnt understand for a few minutes.

I have autism with tendencies towards ADD (apparently the two conditions can sometimes overlap). It's so true that ADD symptoms can get in the way of getting help. I don't get it when people talk about overdiagnosis as if it is a global phenomenon because outside of the USA it can be really difficult to get a diganosis.
