KIBRIS CIFTETELLISI

It is clear that Cyprus Turkish Folk Music is under the influence of Anatolian folk music although it developed its local characteristics as well. Most of the folk songs were known orally since the collecting and documenting this kind of information was delayed due to the unorganized life of the Turkish Cypriots until 1974 under the impact of their political struggle for survival.

Editing of Turkish folk music has begun in 1973 and they were recorded in musical notes. The research for the discovery of the unforgotten folk songs are still going on. The Turkish Folk Music group established by the government and others by private institutions are contributing to the activities of Turkish Folk Music actively today. Has-Der which is an Association of Folk Arts is rather active in collecting and editing Cypriot Folk music and dances as well as some other cultural and anthropological aspects of Cyprus.

@thesongsofTRNC The people that want Enosis with Greece are idiots and deluded to think they are Greek. We have stopped being Greek a long time ago. There are no T/Cs, or G/Cs. Only Cypriots. I'm from Limassol and take my word there are plenty of us that want the two sides to be reunited. The Anan plan was fair for you, but not fair for us. We need a plan that is fair for both "sides".

I LOVETHIS SONG SO MUCH .I REMMBER WHEN EVERY TIME I GO TO WEDDINGS AND HERE THIS SONG I GET ALL GOOSE BUMS AND SO PROUD OF THIS WELL KNOWN TUNE AT WEDDINGS....this one im def haveing played at my wedding for sure.im so proud to be a turkish cypriot.....and as always greeks yet again making bullshit comments about ARE SONGS AND THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN GREEKS ..SO FUCKING GET OVER IT .CIFTETELLI IS ..TURKISH AND ALWAYS WILL BE...GET THAT IN YOUR THICK GREEK HEADS...........
