Well, I did not know that!
However, Patrick Bell, inventor of the reaping machine, was born in Auchterhouse, not Arbroath.

Arbroath gets a poor press,but is was here that one of the most important documents in history was created and signed in the presence of our good King Robert the Bruce,April 6th.1320.
That is very true. Dr Samuel Johnson himself commented on the Abbey's sheer scale.
I also take part in the Arbroath Abbey Timethemes charity, who annually reenact the signing of the Declaration every April.
