Billy Dean sings "Song of the Year-1992"

"Young Man" is the debut album of American country music artist Billy Dean. Released on Capitol Records in 1991, the album produced two hit singles: "Only Here for a Little While" and "Somewhere in My Broken Heart". Both of these songs peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts, with the latter also reaching #18 on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks charts. The album has been certified gold by the RIAA for U.S. sales of 500,000 copies.

The track "Somewhere in My Broken Heart" was previously recorded by Randy Travis on his 1989 album No Holdin' Back.

For instance, his song "I Miss Billy the Kid" was written about his boyhood and the fact that he changed his name from Harold to Billy after his father, who was also a great singer but gave up his career to raise his children, passed away. He's still performing on the road, too. (He performed at Erie, PA March 16, 2011...wish I would have known that sooner since I live in PA). I watched a video of Billy singing a duet with his daughter, then watched him and his son playing a guitar duet. By the time I left, I felt like we were old friends. :)

@Maureen712 Thank you Maureen...I really hope you feel better soon too...it has been a rough road for me since my thyroid condition made me have that stroke in December but so glad I am back to work and halfway normal again.
