S9 brough off E-Bay with faults .

Brought this S-9 on 27/05/09 .
left the seller positive feedback after initial inspection .
24 hrs later and several poor radio reports of quiet audio ,this happens !!
Radio freezes up and is like this for 2 hours , then it returns to normal .
by normal i mean its off frequency on USB ans LSB , outgoing audio is extremely quiet , even with a leeson TW-232 desk microphone ? not happy with quality of radio at all ,
buyers beware ,, this radio has receipt included and its less than 2 months old and in excellent cosmetic condition , yet the seller has crossed his name and address off it ...After 28 years in radio i can tell a skank and this is one ..

damn lol o my this is the third one i see with the problem i tried lowering the display voltage it stop for a while nothing i was interesting in wasting my sanity over (helping my friend who bought one) what happen to it next ????????????? maybe in cb heaven lol

@bigpimp347 POS radio yes indeed! Worthless on SSB. Basically it is a truckers radio for Am only. SSB is an afterthought. The top gun deal is an ego booster for the big swing morons that like to get a hard on over watching that thar' meter swang!

@aa9g1 You must not hear it on sideband .... Lowest Quality radio I would buy with any intent of using it on sideband is a RCI 2950/2970 Even the other RCi's drift all over. Other then those two get a used Ham HF rig... stable as rocks! HR2510 was a stable radio also but they are far and few between and when they are up for grabs have had more hands in them then a cheap escort... AM splatter don't matter you can be 10kz off and not a sole will know thats when the Galaxy bases shine ...

Hey, guess what?...

My Galaxy DX2547 CB base station does that too with the jumping last frequency digit. However, it does not affect the operation of the radio at all, whatsoever though.

Very sorry to hear youve been stroked, but these Magnums are nout but garbage, made of the cheapest components available, just terrible. fancy lights and shinny knobs dont make a good radio..
