  • I have no idea about the pilot...

  • I would rather see the F-14 fly again than the F-18

  • Why did the Navy have to take it out of service

  • @2SLipo Always loved having had the ability to see 'em fly whenever I wanted while on board the USS Constellation. NEVER got old - ever. :)

  • the F14 was my first love...

  • Sorry, but it wasn't a great demo, if this is all it can do it won't survive a fight against a F16 or F15.

Lets just excuse it all by the pilot "holding back".

Check the F15C demo in avalon from Patrick. The best I ever saw almost 10 years ago and never sen anyhing better. Check out Patricks, he had a camera and he used it. ;D

  • @flysupertomcat1 Thanks, when I saw your channel name was flysupertomcat I was a little hesitant to say something....

Saw a F-14D rock the world at the Reno Air Races many years ago...awesome performance.

Went ballistic and into the clouds on take off....something you would never see in an F-14A.

  • @rampking1 Yeah, I didn't check my resources I was just going from the top of my head. I did know that it was over 20K though :)

  • @flysupertomcat1 Where did you get these thrust numbers from?

The original F-14A had P&W TF-30's which had only a little over 20,000 Lbs Thrust with afterburning.

Perhaps you are talking thrust without afterburner ??

I can look it up but I've believe max. thrust numbers were about 27,000 lbs per F110 engine.

  • @rampking1 One single GE-F110 has over 20,000 lbs of thrust
