'Her Eyes Are Underneath The Ground', written by Antony & the Johnsons, performed by James Harker.
I eventually decided to change the lyric "my womb" to "her womb". While the song is extremely beautiful, and I wanted to record my own version, I also feel certain elements are deeply personal to Antony Hegarty, and tied into his transgender feelings. Thus, while I believe anyone has the right to interpret a song in their own way, I didn't feel I had the right to use that specific lyric directly. For me, the song centres around the mother figure, both in the personal sense and in the general Mother Nature sense, which is a universal concept, so it felt fine to sing the rest of the lyrics in the first person. In changing the womb lyric, I don't feel the general message of the song has been compromised.
In other news, I also managed to mishear "Ocean" as "Oh, shame"! Oops. Nevertheless, it made sense to me at the time, and, in a way, it still does. So apologies for that, but I hope that perhaps you can hear the phrase "oh shame, swallow me now" and that it can be meaningful to you as well.

Gosh that was absolutely stunning. It's hard to take such a personal song of Antony's and make something of it that can even come close.. but that was truely wonderful. The way you play piano is beautiful and your voice soo rich, clear and emotional. I misheard the lyrics as well when I sung it. I misheard "Ocean" as "Oh lord". But it didnt matter in your performance. Everything just made sense. You have a wonderful, wonderful talent!

that's an awfully long justification for why you are too embarrassed to sing about having a womb ;)
