This short animated video shows the fifth and the last stage of Herpes simplex virus infection - envelopment and release from the infected cell. First, the viral glycoproteins are transfered via cell's RER and the Golgi apparatus to the membrane.Than, the capsid associates with Viral tegument proteins such as "Alpha tif and VHS and migrates to the membrane via RER and the Golgi apparatus. The final stage is the budding of the HSV from the infected cell through the viral glycoproteins.
The virus is now mature and is ready to infect other cells in the area.
