1) if velcro is used in the battery compartment as the instructions indicate, there is no way to get the battery out except for pulling on the wires (not good form). I put a shoestring under the battery to pull it out.
2) If you want to fly w/o the landing gear and keep the recommended CG, you need to put 30 grams of weight where the landing gear goes to balance. 6 US nickles are exactly 30 grams.

It takes no more than a hour to charge a battery second time. However the peak detection will tell you when the battery is fully charged.
