@helvistheking it's not about willing participants, it's about your flawed argument. if the NFL didn't think it wasn't a bad thing, they would've never have made that rule. second play for the bengals and carson throws a 60 yard bomb to chris henry. you can't tell me that that the bengals weren't in position to win that game. they were leading at the half if i remember correctly with a second string QB with a team that had a high passing game that season.

In case you didn't know, football players are WILLING participants in the game. I'm sure Palmer had heard of Joe Theismann (and many other injured qb's), and knew what could happen to a quarterback's legs in a violent game. He cashed the checks and took the risk under the rules of that time.
