This is the introductory video for the Keyboard Hack workshop at InterAccess. In this we run through a demonstration of disassembling a keyboard, tracing contacts, and soldering in a switch to create a simple custom controller. This basic recipe is a very easy and affordable starting point for artists to create custom physical interfaces for their creations.

  • great man i have a little question if i wont to hack all keys

  • can you wire up as many buttons as you need?

  • Great step by step tutorial.

Just one big question, can does a contact repeat itself for a different key, so that you have to solder two cables into one contact? or does the switch have specific contacts for every key?

if so, you only solder over the other cable or how? thanks

  • thx bro
