Be aware folks, that IRN's at 3 months are a very different bird from an IRN whose 8 months plus in age. Females being A LOT more "territorial" about there cage and being handled. This particularly species IMO has to be handled a certain way. As opposed to other species of Psittacus that relish cuddling and overall handling. It's very different from species to species and totally dependent on the birds individual behavior. But as far as IRN's go there behavior is quite similar as a whole.

@redfrenchgirl Sometimes takes up to 3yrs. My IRN Keiko's collar is just barely coming in after a year and a half.

@JamesPromIII That would be my Keiko....:)

However, once he's stepped up onto my finger if i cup my hand or kiss him he's ok but still a bit nervous at times. I've been in the avian field for nearly 30yrs now with both wild & domestic experience. And from the folks i've talked with who own this breed of bird it's just the nature of IRN's not liking being touched. He certainly talks up a storm though....lol

I have a GCC or Green-Cheek Conure and an IRN Indian Ringneck. Kiwi my GCC LOVES attention like this, and has picked up a lot of words from Keiko my IRN. However, Keiko is afraid of hands unfortunately. He will come out of his cage on his own, and only step-up once he's landed safely to the floor.
