Alan Hartney is the Coffee Ambassador for Starbucks in the UK and Ireland. Alans role is quite simply the envy of coffee-lovers: to drink it, talk about it, find foods that match it, and travel the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland talking to people about it.

  • The flat white is usually served in a tulip cup with a single espresso base, milk and a thin layer of silky froth on top. It makes for a great canvas for cafe art, usually a heart. Im thinking it came around from the Australian instant coffee scene. We must have wanted a white coffee without all that fancy stuff :)
