Kansas State University standout runningback Keithen Valentine completed his first professional season in the WIFA (Western Indoor Football Association) this past year with the Reno Nevada Barons. Scoring 17 touchdowns on the year Valentine helped the Barons to finish in second place in the league behind the Stockton California Wolves. The Barons awarded Valentine with the offensive MVP for his efforts on the year. "Valentine is an outstanding ball player," Tim Pierce (Barons GM) said. "He's an NFL-ball player, and if he didn't have surgery his senior year at Kansas State (University), he wouldn't even be here so we're lucky to have him" (via www.baronsbeat.wordpress.com) Valentine is currently back home in Baton Rouge training for an NFL opportunity. Tim Pierce and others in and around pro football feel that Valentine will get looks from several NFL teams once the NFL lock out is lifted.
