i know you commented this a very long time ago, but w/e... first off it is based off of the d200 not the d300. The only thing that nikon built was the body. the processor, sensor, and the majority of the internal workings are fujifilm technology. This makes the colors completley different than the d200. Fuji wanted to enter the dslr market, but couldnt come out with an entie line of lenses, so using an F mount allows them to create a dslr and let nikon deal with the lenses, flashes, ect...

fuji only made the sensor the lenses are nikkors,

this was the basis model for the D300 but yeah the 300 is better,

god that guys gonan break the Fmount seriously!
