This is just paper, Think about the same process, but for plastic now.

Hmm, there should be more research into if recycling's (paper and plastic) effects are on the environment. Is there energy/waste used/emitted in: transportation (home>recycling facility>re-processing plant>etc.), manpower, the re-processing in already processed paper (fumes from the water and chemicals added in re-pulping), de-inking (causing a waste by-product, where would this waste would end up)? TAX-PAYER'S cost of all this? Consider different sources, not just nationally but globally.

This is a great vision. Hawaii could be America's demonstration project for sustainability, and it would draw tourism. Obviously, the natural beauty of the islands must be maintained, and I can only imagine the NIMBY response for offshore windmills, but if they were far enough offshore...
