Great! Thank you!

Fascinating!

I believe that may be also because French is so naturally a dramatic language. I don't claim to be a wonderful lyricist...my goal is to let the English speaking audience in on what was originally said. Most translated songs don't tell the original story, they just create new lyrics to match the meter, and aren't concerned with the true message. Although what Paul Anka did with the song was truly brilliant, I wanted the audience to know what the true story said.

@thebigphilbowski It probably sounds sadder to you in English if you don't understand the lyrics when sang in French, but in my case (I'm French) I find the original much sadder.

Fantastic rendering of the original lyrics - I love this, Deborah!

Bonjour, I'm a French speaker, lol. Let me tell you how much we enjoyed this video. I know about French of course, but i know about verry nice voices. And i like this one! Anyway, this was writed by P.Anka. Claude Francois & Jacques Revaux takes the music, and road a song for Claude 's love at this moment. The girl are: France Gall. Verry sad song! The difference? In French: He loose his Love. In English: He loose his life! Tell me why? Lol... Anyway, A bientot! Franz Goovaerts
is this the original "My Way" ?

Yes, this is the original which was not "My Way" but with a much different story as you hear in the first half. It was not written by Paul Anka, just translated by him into that version done by him and Frank Sinatra.
