Arcuri announces the Seniors Protection Act, which would provide Social Security recipients with a one-time $250 payment, will be taken up by the House of Representatives in November in response to the Social Security Administration's announcement that there will be no automatic Cost-of-Living-Adjustment for 2011. Arcuri has also cosponsored two pieces of legislation that seek to address problems with the current methodology used to determine the Social Security COLA, which would ensure seniors dependent on these benefits get needed increases in response to their greater cost of living.

that failed to plan or save for retirement.
Social security was created to keep you out of the gutter, eating cat food, not in a luxury golf condo and a free scooter chair.
Social security is not a retirement plan.
It's for the lack of one.
We need to raise the age as life-span increases.
When passed median life-span was 58.
Now it's 78.
We will wish we had cat food when we retire.
