There are so many bad shepards out there that one has to go into a new church with extreme discernment. Great message, wish we could hear more of it.

this is to be expected.

Mr Piper is asking people to have a personal relationship with Jesus, but they do not know what that even means and would not want it if they did..

Hey, guess what, folks! It's all man-made. When there are human beings involved, something is gonna get screwed up, and someone is going to get greedy. And this guy is nuts to say in public that God is "very angry." God is God, and whoever claims to read God's mind is just another false prophet. Yet another mess of misinterpretation, compliments of your fellow man.

@d33hunt Well said d33hunt. I agree that there are many shepherds that do a lot of wrong, but that doesn't mean that every single pastor on TV is doing wrong. It's important to use discernment, rather than allowing bitterness to grow in us and cause us to blame every pastor on TV.

Amen indeed! I love John Piper and his ministry has helped me grow spiritually for a long time now! I too am so sick and tired of this disgusting prosperity gospel that does nothing but distort the truth of God. I'm even more sick of pastors taking advantage of people and robbing them blind in the name of Christ so they can drive around in fancy cars while those they prey on go hungry. It's pathetic to see guys like that on TV and I pray that all believers would make a stand against that heresy.
