In My Life(Beatles Cover)-Open-G Acoustic Dobro Instrumental Arrangement

I've always enjoyed this wistful and nostalgic Beatles classic. I decided a while ago that I'd try to arrange a version that could be played in Open G Dobro tuning(GBDGBD)
Opinions will vary, but I enjoyed making it and I hope you enjoy listening to it.

Sorry my question, but isn't Open G DGDGBD?

It depends on whether you're doing Dobro G tuning or just Open G tuning. You are correct that generally open G is DGDGBD. That is not the case in most of my videos.

What is the big difference between the two tunings?

Is it better for what?

One has the bass section being identical to the treble section.(3 strings each)

The other has a D string that is a full octave lower and which either needs to be excluded from a root-note strum or muted with a fingertip, otherwise the chord sounds somewhat off..
