I agree Sommers style is very flawed and the movie's he makes are unbelievably silly at times, but I wouldn't say he's HORRIBLE. He does have the Michael Bay style of using over-budget CGI and stupid action scenes while the story and characters are kinda half-written, but he still puts at least some effort in. I think he means well, he just doesn't hit the right notes. He's nowhere near as bad as Uwe Boll or anything like that, he just really needs to think more.

I agree. Oh and don't forget Roland Emmerich. Those three are the champions of contrived, brainless flicks. They need to learn that a story can be entertaining without being an insult to the intelligence.
