Fiesta de la Arribada 2009 - Baiona

La Fiesta Medieval de la Arribada conmemora la llegada al puerto de Baiona de la carabela Pinta el 1 de Marzo de 1493 y con ella la noticia del Descubrimiento de América. Se celebra anualmente coincidiendo con la fecha de aniversario, consiste en la reproducción real de la arribada de la Pinta, en los mismos escenarios de hace cinco siglos, al amparo de una Villa transformada en un burgo medieval mediante la ambientación, animación, usos, costumbres y vivencias de aquella época, con todo el sabor de aquellos tiempos de luces y sombras, con un mercado y una algarabía de mercaderes, artesanos, comediantes y personajes variopintos que consiguen meter al público en el túnel del tiempo y transportarlo al Medievo

Historia:

El viernes 1 de marzo de de 1493, después de haber descubierto las Indias Occidentales, recalaba en Baiona la carabela Pinta; tras cuarenta y cuatro largas jornadas de un tornaviaje sacudido por un proceloso estado de la mar que a punto estuvo de acabar en tragedia.

Traía consigo la noticia del Descubrimiento de América la cual fue inmediatamente comunicada a la Corte dando cuenta del hecho, esto constituyó la certificación y proclamación, ante el mundo occidental, del hallazgo de unas tierras hasta entonces para él desconocidas, pero buscadas mediante una empresa urdida, largamente proyectada y finalmente llevada a cabo con éxito. Y no hay duda alguna de que el capitán de la Pinta, Martín Alonso Pinzón, envió desde Bayona un comunicado a los Reyes anunciándoles el sensacional acontecimiento, como tampoco existe duda de que tal comunicado fue el primero que recibieron los monarcas. Así nos lo confirma el historiador Jerónimo Zurita, cronista del Reino de Aragón.

The Medieval Celebration of the Arrivada commemorates the arrival to the port of Baiona of carabela Pinta in 1 of March of the 1493 and with her the new of Discovery of America. It is celebrated annually agreeing with the date of anniversary, consists of the real reproduction of the arrived of the Pinta, of such scenes of five centuries ago, under protection of the Villa transformed into a medieval town, animation, uses, customs and experiences of that time, yet the flavor of those times of lights and shades, with a market and a row of merchants, many-colored craftsmen, comedians and personages who are able to put to the public in the tunnel of the time and to transport it to the Medievo.

History:

Friday 1 of March of of 1493, after to have discovered the Western Indians, arrived in Baiona carabela Pinta; after forty- four long days of a travel shaken by a projealous sea disturbance that to point was to finish in tragedy. It brought with himself the news of the Discovery of America which immediately was communicated to the Court having given account of the fact, this constituted the certification and proclamation, before the western world, of the finding of earth until then for him not known, but looked for a company, long projected and finally carried out successfully. And some is no doubt that the captain of the Pinta, Martín Alonso Pinzón, sent from Baiona an official notice to the Kings announcing to them the sensational event, as does not exist doubt that either such official notice was first that they received the monarchs. Thus the historian Jerónimo Zurita confirms us.
