A 36-million dollar U.S. settlement has been reached for 18 victims of the deadly bus crash involving members of the Windsor Wildcats hockey team. The owners of a Canadian charter bus and a tractor-trailer have agreed to settle a lawsuit arising from the 2005 collision in New York that killed three passengers. Sacha Long spoke with one of the surviving passengers. A Coach Canada bus was carrying the Windsor Wildcats team when it swerved off the highway - about 50 kilometers south of Rochester, New York and slammed into a transport truck parked on the side of the highway. The collision sliced the bus in half. The accident took the life of Wildcats head coach Rick Edwards, his 13-year old son Brian and a third passenger, Catherine Roach, the mother of player Erin Roach, who was also hurt in the crash. The truck driver also died. The remaining team members suffered injuries which ranged from broken bones to brain trauma and post traumatic stress disorder. Jason Mailloux suffered neck and shoulder injuries. He says the cash money will go pay ongoing medical bills. Mailloux says the news today is a huge relief for all involved.
