  • REALLY REALLY REALLY GREAT STRING SESSION!!!!!!!

  • Great ! Very nice sound.

  • Was für aktive und klangvolle Streicher! Jan, DAS ist es ...

  • Isso é maravilhoso!

  • the sounds of theremin is overpowered by the string....

or is it supposed to sound like that?

  • I agree with Yavor54, Carolina is really up there in theremin playing quality. She raises it up to a serious classical instrument and I think she has refined the technique a little further. I do suspect that there will be some microscopic pitch inaccuracies, since the note spacings are floating in space and would even change a little with atmospheric conditions like moisture. But there is something solid and grounded in her play nonetheless.

  • Bobb0- I'm a lifelong performing musician with as good as ear as you can get for pitch. I can detect microscopic inaccuracies. I thought that I could play the theremin at least as good as any of the people shown here. Ahhh... this instrument is about 3X as difficult as a violin. I can practice 24 hours, and still I have pitch problems. Breathing is a half step... yea, you have to stop breathing. Carolina is as good as it gets in accuracy...sad but true. Try it some time.

  • @CharlieDraper - Hey, Charlie. Makes sense when that's the right sound. Carolina (and, sorry to say, many theremin players) ought to put more effort into getting their pitch more accurate. I remember we used to do that with voice a lot, drench them in reverb to make 'em sound more steady. To me, the heart of theremin playing is in the expressive dynamics, but pitch counts too. Basics, whatever the instrument.

  • @bobbo924B Selecting a very round timbre with few overtones and apply lots of reverb makes pitching discrepancies on the instrument less obvious. Carolina taught me that. ;-)

  • MMMM.... A little bit out of tune which is annoying in a classic part.... continue playing pop music and practicing. Sorry, but that is really annoying. I can't enjoy the string quartet... You 're beautiful, baby face, but ..don't do it again. I know it's difficult to get a perfect tune so don't do it..that's it.
