I have a "pair" of buttons and they both raise up the head and call like that. That means that they are both males??
The one is totally white with a yellow pick and bigger than the other so i thought it was a female...

so cute mine dont sing like that they sing a few more times each i mine are chinese painted quails and silver quails
have you ever sold the botton quail eggs ove the mail. if so ill buy many eggs from you. thanks.

@charliesweb1k Thank you Charles but no I haven't sold any eggs. I really did not get into the hobby to sell eggs. Besides you have to get special cartons and they are sold by large lots. Sorry.

what's the best way for me to introduce a female quail to a male one??? I had a pair but the male picked on her back and made her bleed, sadly she died a few days later :( the cage is huge enough for them two, i just don't want him to live a lonely life, thanks!

@kev485 Males are hugely territorial. Take the male out. Change the cage around (replace the bedding, move things around) put the fem in first. After a while maybe about an hour or so put the male in. This way he will not feel it's his territory for the female would have been there first. I understand about your concern reference loneliness. My little Boy Dan passed this year, DeeDee is now alone, I do not want to put her with the rest since she is elderly & don't want to risk her safety.
