@BloodyBlackRose1 lol - cannibal corpse is speed death metal - after the burial is progressive metalcore - they focus on progressive riffs. in my opinione cannibal corpse havent got any guitar skills if you compare that band with after the burial. But anyway you cant compare DeathMetal with Progressive metalcore, bitch.

@BillyLow94 Errr..... I don't know what you're smoking. But as someone who detests Cannibal Corpse those guys have some ridiculous technical skill.

P.S. After the Burial isn't Prog at all. Prog is a combination of classical and jazz composing with rock instruments. This is merely just taking Meshuggah's more metal riffs without Thordendal' Jazz soloing.

ATB is not progressive at all. They are more or less a mix of meshuggah and the gothenburg sound coupled with modern metalcore. There is nothing too incredible about them from a technical standpoint outside of their rythms and usage of sweep arpeggios. As far as metal guitarists go they are fairly pedestrian in skill.

HOWEVER

They make up for this by being INCREDIBLE songwriters. Thus proving that technicality doesn't mean shit when you have soul.

i played a show with them at the brewery in raleigh NC when i was in Cast The First Stone, they are amazing live! Born of Osiris kicked ass to..i cant remember who else we played the show with..i thnk it was ATTILLA and Veil of MAYA.. bad ass live show tho!

@TheMetalHobbit Their newer stuff can easily be considered progressive and some might even make the argument that rareform was a little progressive, but this album definitely wasn't.
