George and Obama debate health care taxes

George wonders how mandates on the middle class is not a tax increase on the middle class ... why he even went to the dictionary to see the definition of taxes. The One's response ... I don't care what the dictionary says ... it's not a tax increase. Nuance!

Reform? How can government "reform" health care, when it is- in large measure - directly responsible for the mess? Let's face it - NO WHERE in the world is socialized medicine as advanced as American medicine - period. The government needs a bogey - man to fight, so it picks on "evil profit seeking" insurance companies. You won't get surgical procedures just b/c your doc says so with ObamaCare - at least not without a wait, and maybe never. This country is on a path to ruin.

That whole bit about looking up the definition for the facts as being a stretch is Kantian influence if I ever saw one. He is saying that words are just arbitrary meanings that anyone at any moment can make up in his or her own whim in order to change it for whatever purpose. This is the irrational in the open.

Obama is such an idiot. If you have to look at the actual definition of the word tax to conclude it's a tax, THAT'S stretching? Sorry, but it's absurd as holding a baseball in your hand, verifying with the dictionary that it's a baseball, and then saying it's a stretch because you had to actually be factual in your description. The guy is absurd.

If the product is refused, the government states that you are..by refusing..taking an action in a commercial transaction, they have the right to "regulate" that transaction. In the Obamacare bill, if you refuse to purchase healthcare, they can now regulate your refusal to purchase healthcare and fine you for not paying. Fines are possibly even intended as to help pay for the bill. Anyone standing up to the government must have the means to, therefore can afford to pay fines. Its rediculous.

This comes down to the commerce clause in the constitution, what it means for americans and for the states they reside in. The basic premise of the commerce clause is that it intends to regulate commerce between states by encouraging citizens to purchase products from companies outside their living area, usually large puchases from a state to state or business to business are all that applies. This law, states that any purchase of said product by any american is mandatory and can be regulated.

Thats all i see here. He outright refuses to answer the question. In fact, he even says at the end "I absolutely reject that notion".....listen to that carefully, its not an answer to the question. Its not a "YES"....or a "NO". He cannot come out and say that he believes its not a tax increase because it puts him in the wrong.
