  • Dependence is NOT hope but servitude and despair. Not wanting what's yours stolen is not selfish but righteous. Obama? No thanks, keep that nasty change.

Envy, jealousy and bitterness are self-destructive and not hopeful. Wake up, America

  • is anyone really stupid enough to vote for that waste of space? he's an enormous imbecile...

  • Stupid ass, yeah they need to build new plants to power up all the goddamned factories to manufacture all the cheap ass shit sent over here. Since the U.S. has been led to believe we are the source of all the evils and downward events happening on the planet earth, other countries that don't even have environmental restrictions are raping our ass and producing goods that we once made at half the cost. Thank You EPA and Obama for completely fucking up capitalism.

  • why don't we humans just leave this planet and lease the land to beings from outer space. maybe they can afford the expense of living here, because it's apparent WE can't.

  • Rates WILL increase..NO doubt about it

  • "under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket"

His WORDS nothing would be "slight" about the expense

  • Pay attention. "Electricity generated will be slightly more expensive". "Clean coal technology" This is not banning coal. If you can't pay attention, don't comment.

  • Obama's background shows that he's hostile to coal. Earlier this year he revealed his views to a group of reporters at the SF Chronicle:

"When I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, uh, you know, under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket."

Not just "slightly more expensive" as he softpedals it in this campaign speech.

He promised to impose severe fines on coal plant emissions, effectively driving them out of business.

  • To what adverse effects of mining are you refering? If it is the "damage" to the scenery, try looking at the aftermath of Mt St Helens in Washington State, that area recovered very nicely from damage far worse than any mining operation, and did so on its own. I actually laugh out loud when I hear nay politican talk about Cap and Trade, because they use that as though it will halt pollution when in reality, it merely shifts the blame of who is doing the polluting. It's a Red Herring arguement.

  • true that
