If I wanted to listen to JD, I'd listen to JD. Instead, I'm listening to Jose Gonzalez. I think it's a great cover, in the sense that it doesn't sound like the original song. Why? Because it's not supposed to. It's a cover. I don't want to hear the exact same version of the song. I want to hear how it's interpreted. Music is a universal language, but we all interpret it differently. And covers are a perfect example of this.

there's a horrid attempt at ownership over joy division. i agree, everyone who think's they're a "real joy division fan", is full of shit. that shit is LONG gone. long gone. but, everyone thinks they're so fucking real, so fucking old, so fucking indie, so fucking post-modern, so fucking cool.
